I. Flow Measurement Instruments

1. PROMAG50 Electromagnetic Flowmeter

Application: Conductive liquid flow measurement

Pre-power Check:

  • Sensor full pipe, horizontal or vertical installation (flow upward)
  • Straight pipe runs: upstream 5D, downstream 3D
  • Lining intact, electrodes clean
  • Separate reliable grounding, resistance <10Ω

Quick Setup: Press E → QUICK SETUP → Password 50

  • Unit: m³/h
  • Range: 4mA=0, 20mA=full scale
  • Damping: 2-5s
  • Pipe diameter DN: per nameplate
  • Low flow cutoff: 0.5%-1% of range
  • Empty pipe detection: ON

Press +/- together for 3s to return

Zero Calibration: Full pipe, static, no flow → Menu → Calibration → Zero Adjust → Press E → Wait 10s → Zero OK (Normal: ±0.01 m³/h)

Current Check: 0%=4mA, 50%=12mA, 100%=20mA

2. PROMASS 80F Coriolis Flowmeter

Application: High-precision mass flow, density, temperature

Pre-power Check: Full pipe, no bubbles, no vibration; avoid strong magnetic fields and >200°C; flange seals intact; housing grounded

Basic Setup:

  • Setup → Unit → Mass flow: kg/h
  • Range: 4mA=0, 20mA=full scale
  • Damping: 2-5s
  • Fluid: Liquid/Gas
  • Measuring mode: Standard/Symmetry

Zero Calibration: Full pipe, no flow, static → Menu → Calibration → Zero adjust → Press E → Wait 30s → Complete. NEVER calibrate with empty pipe!

Empty Pipe Detection: Menu → Setup → Empty pipe → ON, threshold default 5%

3. 72F Vortex Flowmeter

Application: Steam, gas, liquid flow measurement

Installation: Upstream ≥10D, downstream ≥5D straight runs; arrow matches flow direction; horizontal pipes level, vertical pipes bottom-to-top; away from pumps/compressors

Wiring: 24V DC, 4-20mA+HART

Quick Commissioning: Long press E 3s → Basic menu

  • Set Tag and medium type (Steam/Gas/Liquid)
  • Unit: Steam=kg/h, Gas=Nm³/h, Liquid=m³/h
  • Enter Range span
  • Select Diameter (e.g., DN50)

Mass Flow Calculation:

  • Temp: Select Internal (built-in sensor)
  • Pressure: External if transmitter connected, else fixed working pressure

Zero Calibration: Full pipe, no flow, temp stable → Menu → Cal → Zero Cal → Wait 60s → OK. Output → LFC set 2%-5% low flow cutoff

Errors: A001=Vibration (reinforce piping); A002=Low flow (check cutoff or valve)

4. DTT31 Thermal Mass Flowmeter

Application: Cooling water, lubricating oil low flow monitoring

Installation: Full pipe; 5D upstream straight run; sensor fully immersed, tip at pipe center, insertion ≥10mm; horizontal=side mount, vertical=bottom-to-top

Display: White=normal, Red=alarm

Wiring: 24V DC, output 4-20mA + 1-2 switch outputs

Commissioning: Long press E 3s → Basic menu → Set unit (kg/h or m³/h), range, output mode

Two-Point Calibration:

  • Learn Low (0%): Stop pump, zero flow → Press E → 30s → OK
  • Learn High (100%): Max stable flow → Press E → 30s → OK
  • Select YES when prompted SAVE?

Faults: W432=Unstable calibration retry; Flow drift → Set Temp Comp ON

II. Level & Pressure Instruments

5. FMR245 Radar Level Transmitter

Application: Non-contact liquid, slurry, solids (26GHz)

Installation: ≥300mm from tank wall, avoid inlets/agitators; antenna perpendicular to surface; nozzle height ≤150mm, ID ≥100mm

Quick Setup: Long press E 3s → Basic Setup

  • Language: Select
  • Tank Shape: Vertical/Horizontal/Sphere
  • Medium: Liquid/Solid
  • Empty Cal (0%): Distance D from flange to lowest level
  • Full Cal (100%): Distance L from flange to highest level

Echo Optimization: Menu → Envelope → Auto Learn → Auto scan 30s (filters interference)

안전: Safety menu set SD safety distance (e.g., 0.2m)

Test: Output → Test → Manual output 4mA/12mA/20mA to verify DCS

6. FMU23X Ultrasonic Level Transmitter

Application: Standard liquid and solids level

Installation: Probe parallel to surface; ≥30cm from tank wall; off-center from tank top; avoid inlets/obstacles

Factory Reset: Press V+H together → Display V9H5 → Change to 333 → Press H

구경 측정:

  • Empty: V0H1 → Enter sensor to zero distance → Press H
  • Full: V0H2 → Enter zero to full scale distance → Press H

Fault Check: Err displayed → Enter V9H0 for error code

7. FMM50 Plumb Bob Level Sensor

Application: Large solids silos mechanical measurement

Commissioning:

  • Basic setup → Empty: Flange to reference zero distance
  • Block distance: Flange to weight end safety distance
  • Full: 20mA corresponding max level distance
  • Mode: Periodical (cyclic measurement)
  • Time interval: Set cycle
  • Current output → Standard → 4-20mA
  • Linearization → Level DU → Linear → Unit m

Press +/- together to return

8. PMP71 Pressure Transmitter

Application: High-precision pressure measurement

Local Setup: Long press E 2s → Setup

  • Unit: bar/MPa/kPa
  • Measuring range: LRV lower, URV upper
  • Damping: 2-5s

Position Zero: Zero pressure, drain valve open, membrane vented → Setup → Pos. zero adjust → Confirm → Adjustment OK (Output 4.000mA)

HART Communicator:

  • Connect across signal lines → Auto-detect PMP71
  • Verify Tag and range
  • Device Setup → Calibration → Zero Trim
  • With pressure source: 100% pressure → Span Trim enter standard
  • Check 50% point: Should be 12.000mA (±0.02mA)

III. Water Quality Analyzers

9. COM223/COM253 Dissolved Oxygen

Application: Wastewater and industrial water monitoring

Air Calibration: Install membrane with electrolyte → Expose to air (avoid sun, 20-25°C) → Connect transmitter → Press CAL → Password 22 → Air cal → E confirm → Value drops 600 to 0 → No error = complete

Normal Range:

  • Altitude mode: 6.00-11.20mg/l or 85%-157%SAT
  • Salinity mode: 9.20-9.30mg/l or 102%SAT

Settings:

  • Unit: E → Password 22 → Setup1 → Unit → mg/L
  • Current output: E → Password 22 → — → Output → 4-20mA → Enter concentration values

Maintenance: Weekly water rinse; Industrial wastewater (H₂S, ammonia, etc.) requires more frequent cleaning/membrane replacement

10. CPM223/CPM253 ORP Analyzer

Application: Oxidation-reduction potential

Startup Setup: (May default to pH, change immediately)

  • Setup → Meas. mode → ORP
  • Unit: mV
  • Output: 4mA=-1000mV, 20mA=+1000mV
  • Damping: 2-5s
  • Temp. comp.: OFF

Two-Point Calibration:

  • Rinse electrode with DI water → Dry
  • CAL → Password 22 → ORP Cal
  • Point 1: +220mV standard → Stable → CAL
  • Rinse dry → Point 2: +468mV → Stable → CAL → Cal OK

No standards? Use Manual mode to enter mV value

Maintenance: Monthly water rinse, quarterly calibration, ensure 3mol/L KCl fill solution

11. CUE21 Online Turbidity

Application: 90° IR scatter with ultrasonic auto-clean

Parameters:

  • Unit: NTU
  • Range: Clean water 0-100 NTU
  • Filter time: 5-10 seconds
  • Ultrasonic cleaning: ON, cycle 15-30min, duration 10-20s

Two-Point Calibration:

  • Zero: 0 NTU ultrapure water → CAL → Zero cal → 2min → Drift <±0.02 NTU
  • Span: 10 NTU or 100 NTU standard → CAL → Span cal → Error <±1%

Return to AUTO mode when complete

12. CA80COD Online COD Analyzer

Application: Dichromate method, CM44x + reaction cabinet

Startup Self-Test: Confirm 220V AC and reagents (R1 potassium dichromate, R2 silver sulfate/sulfuric acid, R3 mercury sulfate) level >1/2 → Power on → ~20min self-test

Errors: E01=No sample (check filter/pump); E02=Reagent missing

Settings:

  • Range: 0-500 mg/L
  • Cycle: 30 min
  • Digestion: 165°C, 15 min
  • Output: 4-20mA=0-500 mg/L
  • Auto-clean: Every 24 hours
  • Auto-cal: Every 7 days

Two-Point Calibration: Prepare ultrapure (blank), 100mg/L low, 500mg/L high standards

  • Blank cal: Absorbance <0.02
  • Low+High cal: R²≥0.999
  • Check: 250mg/L standard, error ±10%

Maintenance Schedule:

  • Daily: Check reagent levels and tubing
  • Weekly: Blank cal + clean filter
  • Monthly: Two-point cal + replace pump tubing
  • Quarterly: Clean digestion cell/cuvette + replace all reagents

IV. Signal Conversion

13. RTA421 Relay / Signal Converter

Application: 4-20mA/0-10V to relay switch alarm output

Wiring:

  • L/N: 220V AC power
  • +IN/-IN: Field instrument signal input
  • +OUT/-OUT: 24V DC loop power (for sensor)
  • RL1/RL2: Two relay outputs (SPDT)

Quick Setup: Long press E 3s → Basic menu

  • Input Type: 4-20mA or 0-10V
  • Range: Match sensor (e.g., 0-1000 kg/h)
  • Display: PV

Alarm Settings:

  • AL1 High: Set Point (e.g., 800), Hysteresis 5% (50), Action NO/NC
  • AL2 Low: Low value (e.g., 200), Hysteresis 5%

Test & Save: Menu → Test → Relay → Trigger RL1/RL2 listen for “click” → Long press E → SAVE? → YES
