Technical Characteristics and Reliable Performance
-
Active Sensor Technology: The FTL41 uses a piezo-electrically excited tuning fork. When the fork is covered by liquid, its frequency changes; this shift is detected and converted into a switching signal. Because the sensor is “active,” it continuously verifies its own functionality, providing higher reliability than passive systems.
-
Plug and Play Functionality: The device is designed for simplicity. It works out of the box without the need for calibration or specific media adjustment. This makes commissioning fast and cost-effective, even for varying liquid types.
-
Superior Stability: Compared to mechanical float switches, the FTL41 offers significantly better long-term stability and repeatability of the switching point. With no mechanically moving parts, there is no wear and tear, making the device virtually maintenance-free.
-
Versatile Installation: Featuring an extension tube, the FTL41 can be mounted in various positions to detect levels at specific heights. It is compatible with a wide range of process connections, from standard industrial threads and flanges to hygienic Tri-Clamp fittings.
-
Robust Material Design: Constructed from 316L stainless steel, the sensor is capable of handling process pressures up to 40 bar and temperatures up to 150 °C, covering the majority of standard industrial process requirements.
