This multi-stage cage design manages the pressure drop across several stages, preventing the fluid pressure from dropping below its vapor pressure. Balanced Plug for High-Pressure Drops: Like the standard HPT, the HPT-C utilizes a balanced valve plug. By equalizing process pressure across the trim, the valve significantly reduces the actuator thrust required. This allow for smooth, high-precision control even when the valve is subjected to extreme pressure differentials.
Rugged Cage-Guided Stability: In cavitation-prone services, mechanical stability is paramount. The HPT-C features heavy-duty cage guiding that provides continuous support to the valve plug. Spiral-Wound Gasket Integrity: To maintain a secure pressure boundary under severe thermal and mechanical stress, the HPT-C uses premium spiral-wound gaskets. Standard materials include Alloy 600 or X750 with Graphite, providing the resilience needed for high-pressure utility and process service.
Intermediate Pressure/Temperature Ratings: For applications exceeding standard ASME Class 1500 limits, the HPT-C can be supplied with weld-end fittings that carry intermediate ratings per ASME B16.34. This ensures compliance and safety in modern high-energy piping systems.
Top-Entry Quick Change Trim: Despite its sophisticated multi-stage trim, the HPT-C maintains a top-entry design. All internal components can be removed and replaced using common tools without removing the valve body from the pipeline, facilitating efficient maintenance and reduced downtime.
