Extreme Shutoff Integrity: Because the HPAS is an unbalanced valve, it lacks the internal seal rings found in balanced versions. This simplifies the trim and allows the actuator to apply maximum direct force to the seat, achieving tighter shutoff for high-pressure steam and hydrocarbons.
Severe Service Angle Body: The angle configuration is specifically designed to manage high-pressure drops. By directing the flow in a 90-degree turn, the valve can help reduce the erosive effects of high-velocity fluids on the downstream piping and valve body.
Rugged Cage Guiding: The valve plug is supported by a heavy-duty cage that provides continuous guiding throughout the stroke. This stability is critical in high-pressure applications to prevent plug oscillation, vibration, and mechanical noise.
Intermediate Pressure Ratings: When supplied with weld-end fittings, the HPAS can be rated beyond standard ASME Class 1500. These intermediate ratings allow the valve to operate safely in modern high-temperature, high-pressure power cycles that exceed standard ANSI classifications.
Premium Spiral-Wound Gaskets: To ensure a reliable pressure boundary, the HPAS uses high-grade spiral-wound gaskets (Alloy 600 or X750 with Graphite). These materials are chosen for their resilience against the thermal cycling and extreme pressures typical of utility and refinery service.
Standard Hardened Trim: To resist erosion and wear, the cage and valve plug are manufactured from hardened materials as standard. This ensures a long service life and maintains control precision even when handling abrasive or high-velocity media.
