HTS1 Specialized Sealing: The HTS1 option is engineered specifically for high-temperature shutoff. It utilizes a robust seal ring design, often backed by spring-loading or a backup ring, to maintain constant contact between the valve plug and the cage. This ensures that the “balanced” nature of the valve does not compromise its ability to achieve Class V or VI shutoff.
Thermal Expansion Resilience: High-temperature applications often cause standard seals to bind or leak due to material expansion. The ET HTS1 trim is designed with clearances and seal materials that accommodate thermal cycling, ensuring the valve remains operable and leak-tight even as temperatures fluctuate.
Reduced Actuator Load: Because the ET is a balanced valve, the process pressure is equalized across the plug. This allows the HTS1 configuration to maintain high-integrity shutoff without requiring the massive, high-thrust actuators typically needed for unbalanced valves of the same size.
Rugged Cage-Guided Stability: The valve utilizes heavy-duty cage guiding, which provides total support for the plug throughout its travel. This is essential for preventing the vibration and mechanical noise often associated with high-pressure steam and hot hydrocarbon flows.
Protected PTFE Seat: For applications requiring the tightest possible seal, the construction features a PTFE disk protected by controlled compression between a metal seat and retainer. This design prevents the PTFE from “cold flowing” or eroding, maintaining the seat’s integrity over thousands of cycles.
Environmental Compliance: Like all easy-e valves, the ET HTS1 is compatible with ENVIRO-SEAL™ packing systems. These live-loaded systems provide a constant seal on the stem, significantly reducing fugitive emissions and maintenance requirements in high-temperature service.
