Internal Surface Excellence: To ensure the free flow of viscous media, the HVP’s internal passages are finished to a precision of 0.1 to 0.4 micrometers (4 to 16 microinches) RMS. This ultra-smooth surface minimizes friction and prevents polymer buildup on the valve walls.
Anti-Stagnation Flow Path: The valve’s internal geometry is specifically designed to eliminate “dead zones.” By preventing flow stagnation, the HVP protects the polymer from thermal degradation and ensures consistent product quality throughout the batch.
Integral Thermal Jacketing: Unlike bolt-on jackets that can have cold spots, the HVP provides integral valve body passages. Heat transfer fluid is pumped directly through the valve body, ensuring highly efficient heat transfer and stabilized process fluid temperatures.
Vacuum and Bellows Capability: All HVP series valves can be vacuum rated, making them suitable for polymerization processes that operate under negative pressure. For applications involving hazardous or ultra-pure monomers, a bellows seal is available to ensure zero leakage to the atmosphere.
Custom Engineered Construction: HVP valves are available in both forged and fabricated body styles. This allows the valve to be engineered to match specific piping configurations, including specialized inlet/outlet requirements common in polymer reactor headers.
Adaptable Trim Designs: While the HVP utilizes proven Fisher technology, the trim and body designs are highly customizable. Standard configurations can be adapted to meet exact process specifications, including unique flow characteristics or specialized metallurgical requirements.
