Critical Technical Advantages
Hardened Trim Protection: To combat the destructive nature of abrasive media, the V300S features full protection for the valve body, shaft, and bearings using hard, wear-resistant trim materials. This shielding prevents premature structural failure in the most critical areas of the valve.
Turbulence Reduction via Flow Ring: The valve utilizes a specially shaped flow ring to guide the throttled stream. By streamlining the flow, the V300S minimizes turbulence and prevents the slurry from impinging directly on the pipe wall, which is often the primary cause of pipework failure in slurry systems.
Superior Reverse Flow Performance: In reverse flow configurations, the valve maintains the high-velocity fluid downstream of the vena contracta within the flow ring bore. This ensures the exit flow remains essentially parallel to the flow ring wall, resulting in significantly less erosion compared to traditional globe or standard ball valves.
One-Piece Cast Construction: The V300S body and flanges are produced from a single, solid casting. The absence of welding eliminates potential weak points and stress-concentration zones, providing higher pressure integrity and reliability under cyclical loading.
Accurate Flange Alignment: The full-flanged design simplifies the centering of the valve body within the pipe flanges. Proper alignment is an essential requirement for preventing localized erosion across flange faces, which often occurs when slurry trips over misaligned gaskets or pipe edges.
Contoured V-Notch Precision: The V-notch ball is precisely contoured to deliver a modified equal percentage flow characteristic. This provides the sensitivity required for fine-tuning flow rates at low travel while offering high capacity when fully open.
