Critical Technical Advantages
High Capacity Flow Stream: Through the application of aerodynamic and hydrodynamic design principles, the EHT achieves 30 to 40 percent higher capacity than conventional valves with comparable port sizes. This allows for more efficient flow management and potentially smaller valve sizing for high-volume high-pressure applications.
Balanced Plug for Stable Control: The EHT utilizes a balanced valve plug to equalize process pressure across the trim. This significantly reduces the total force required from the actuator, allowing for smooth, high-precision modulation even at extreme pressure differentials without the need for oversized actuators.
Rugged Drilled-Hole Cage Guiding: Standard drilled-hole cages provide exceptional mechanical strength and resistance to the destructive vibrations common in severe service. This robust guiding system ensures valve plug stability, reducing mechanical stress and extending the operational life of the internal trim.
High-Temperature Class V Shutoff: For extreme thermal service, the EHT can be equipped with a metal C-seal or Bore Seal. These specialized seals permit Class V shutoff at temperatures up to 593C (1100F), making the valve ideal for high-temperature steam and hydrocarbon isolation.
Intermediate Pressure Ratings: When supplied with buttwelding end connections, EHT valves carry Intermediate Standard Ratings. With non-destructive testing, they can meet ASME Intermediate Special Ratings, allowing for safe operation in advanced cycles that exceed standard Class 2500 pressure limits.
Micro-Flow Rangeability: For applications requiring precise control of very low flow rates, the EHT is available with Micro-Form or Micro-Flute valve plugs. These designs provide superb rangeability and prevent the erosion associated with throttling too close to the seat in high-pressure scenarios.

Primary Applications
Main Steam and Feedwater: Managing high-pressure steam distribution and feedwater regulation in utility power plants.
High-Pressure Liquid Letdown: Reducing pressure in hydrocarbon liquid streams within refineries and petrochemical units.
Severe Service Throttling: Reliable control in any application where high pressure drops would cause vibration in less robust valves.
Boiler Support Systems: Handling high-pressure auxiliary steam and bypass lines requiring high capacity and precision.
