Critical Technical Advantages
Balanced Plug Stability: The HPD utilizes a balanced valve plug to equalize the process pressure across the trim. This design allows for smooth, high-resolution control at extreme pressure differentials without the need for oversized, high-thrust actuators.
Rugged Cage Guiding: To combat the vibration and mechanical noise inherent in high-pressure service, the HPD features heavy-duty cage guiding. The cage provides continuous support to the plug throughout its travel, ensuring mechanical integrity and extending the life of the internal components.
Premium Sealing Technology: The HPD is equipped with high-performance spiral-wound gaskets made from Alloy 600/Graphite or Alloy X750/Graphite. These materials are chosen for their superior resilience under the intense thermal cycling and pressure fluctuations common in high-pressure steam and hydrocarbon service.
Increased Pressure/Temperature Ratings: For applications that exceed standard limits, HPD valves with weld-end fittings can be supplied with intermediate ratings per ASME B16.34. This allows the valve to operate safely at pressures higher than standard Class 900 or 1500 ratings.
Wear-Resistant Trim: Hardened stainless steel is used for the cage, valve plug, and other critical trim parts as a standard feature. This provides excellent resistance to erosion and “wiredrawing” in high-velocity flow conditions.
Quick-Change Trim: Maintenance is streamlined through a top-entry design. All trim components can be removed and replaced using common tools without taking the valve body out of the pipeline, significantly reducing downtime.
