Technical Characteristics and Industrial Performance
-
Extreme Solids Range: The FDU95 is optimized for bulk materials, reaching depths of up to 45 meters. This capability is essential for large-scale mining silos, clinker storage, and massive grain elevators where standard sensors cannot reach.
-
High Temperature Options: The sensor is available in two versions to accommodate different process environments, withstanding temperatures up to either +80 °C or a high-heat version reaching +150 °C.
-
Precision in Dusty Environments: Bulk solids measurement often involves high dust levels. The FDU95 uses powerful ultrasonic pulses to penetrate dust clouds, while the self-cleaning effect of the vibrating membrane prevents material from caking on the sensor face.
-
Time-of-Flight Compensation: An integrated temperature sensor provides the transmitter with real-time data to correct the speed of sound calculations. This ensures that even in tall silos with significant temperature gradients, the measurement remains precise.
-
Robust and Flood-Proof: Rated at IP 68, the sensor is completely protected against dust ingress and is flood-proof. This ruggedness allows for reliable operation in open-air stockpiles or rough industrial crushing plants.
-
Simple System Integration: Like the rest of the FDU series, the FDU95 is automatically detected by the FMU90 or FMU95 transmitter. This separate installation (up to 300m) allows the electronics to be safely housed away from the harsh conditions at the top of the silo.
