Critical Technical Advantages
Balanced Plug for Precise Modulation: The HPT utilizes a balanced plug architecture to equalize the process pressure across the trim. This significantly reduces the force required from the actuator to move the valve, enabling high-resolution throttling and stable control even in the presence of extreme pressure differentials.
Rugged Cage-Guided Stability: The valve features heavy-duty cage guiding that provides continuous support to the valve plug throughout its travel. This mechanical stiffness is vital for preventing the vibration and mechanical noise often generated by high-velocity flows, thereby extending the life of the internal components.
Intermediate Pressure/Temperature Ratings: For applications that exceed standard Class 1500 limits, the HPT can be supplied with weld-end fittings that carry intermediate ratings per ASME B16.34. In larger sizes (NPS 8 to 12), it is available as a standard Intermediate ANSI Class 3200 to meet the requirements of advanced power and industrial cycles.
Superior Sealing with Spiral-Wound Gaskets: To ensure a reliable pressure boundary, the HPT utilizes premium spiral-wound gaskets as standard. Constructed from materials like Alloy 600 or X750 with Graphite, these gaskets are designed to maintain a tight seal under the thermal cycling and high mechanical stresses typical of high-pressure service.
Wear-Resistant Hardened Trim: Hardened stainless steel is used for the cage, valve plug, and other critical trim components as a standard feature. This provides superior resistance to erosion and “wiredrawing,” ensuring the valve maintains its performance and shutoff integrity over a long service life.
Top-Entry Quick Change Trim: Maintenance is made efficient by the top-entry design, which allows all internal parts to be removed and replaced using common tools. This work can be performed without removing the valve body from the pipeline, minimizing labor and downtime during turnarounds.

Primary Applications
Main Steam and Feedwater: Controlling high-pressure steam distribution and feedwater regulation in utility power plants.
High-Pressure Gas Processing: Managing gas letdown and pressure regulation in refineries and petrochemical units.
Severe Service Throttling: Reliable control in any application where high-pressure drops would cause vibration in less robust valves.
Boiler Support Systems: Handling high-pressure auxiliary steam and bypass lines.
