Technical Characteristics and Performance
-
Compact Single-Chip Design: The FMR10 features a revolutionary radar chip that allows for an extremely small footprint. This makes it the ideal choice for installations in confined spaces, such as small chemical storage tanks, skids, or narrow sewer shafts.
-
Bluetooth Configuration: As one of the first radars to feature Bluetooth connectivity, the FMR10 can be commissioned and maintained entirely via the SmartBlue app. Users can view live signal curves and adjust settings from a smartphone or tablet, which is especially useful for sensors mounted in hard-to-reach or hazardous locations.
-
Robust Environmental Protection: The device is constructed with a full PVDF body to resist UV radiation and harsh outdoor weather. The electronics are fully potted and the wiring is sealed, earning it IP66/IP68 and NEMA 4X/6P ratings. This ensures reliable operation even if the sensor is temporarily submerged.
-
Flooding Tube Option: For applications where flooding is possible, a specialized flooding tube protection can be mounted. This ensures the radar continues to provide a reliable “high-level” signal even when the sensor face is covered by water, extending the effective measuring range up to 12 meters.
-
26 GHz K-Band Technology: The 26 GHz frequency provides a stable signal for standard liquid surfaces. The FMR10 is designed for simplicity, requiring only three main parameters for a basic setup, making it accessible for users who are not radar experts.

Primary Applications
-
Water Treatment: Level monitoring in open basins, storage tanks for additives, and flocculant containers.
-
Wastewater Management: Reliable tracking in lift stations, pump shafts, and storm overflow basins where foam or steam might affect ultrasonic sensors.
-
Sewer Systems: Compact enough for installation in manholes for flow and level monitoring.
-
Utility Storage: Level measurement in plastic or metal tanks for water, cleaning agents, and non-aggressive process fluids.
-
IBC Monitoring: Because radar can penetrate plastic, the FMR10 can measure the level inside an IBC from the outside, provided there is no metal obstruction.
