Critical Technical Advantages
High-Pressure Balanced Trim: The “AD” designation indicates a balanced plug within an angle body. This design equalizes process pressure across the plug, allowing the valve to provide smooth, stable control at high pressure drops without requiring excessively large or expensive actuators.
Rugged Cage Guiding: The valve plug is fully supported by a heavy-duty cage. This robust guiding system is essential for high-pressure service as it minimizes lateral vibration and mechanical noise, protecting the internal trim from the destructive forces of high-velocity flow.
Enhanced Pressure/Temperature Ratings: For facilities with extreme requirements, HP Series valves with weld-end fittings can be supplied with intermediate ratings according to ASME B16.34. This allows the valve to exceed standard Class 900 or 1500 ratings, providing a safer and more robust pressure boundary for critical steam or hydrocarbon lines.
Piping Economy: The HP series offers expanded end connections (NPS 4 and 6). This integrated design allows the valve to accommodate oversized downstream piping without the need for external line swages, reducing installation costs and simplifying piping layouts.
Premium Sealing Technology: To ensure a leak-proof pressure boundary, the HPAD utilizes high-performance spiral-wound gaskets. Constructed from Alloy 600/Graphite or Alloy X750/Graphite as standard, these gaskets provide exceptional resilience under the thermal cycling and high pressures typical of power plant operations.
Hardened Wear Resistance: Hardened stainless steel trim is a standard feature for the cage, plug, and seat. This provides superior resistance to erosion and wear, significantly extending the time between maintenance intervals in high-velocity applications.
